Program to Train and Position Students Launching into Wealth Management Industry Expands its Reach and Service Offering
Wheelhouse Analytics, in partnership with Envestnet, today announces the expansion of its program, Envestnet Institute On Campus, (EIOC) through the participation of eight additional universities and new service offerings, as it enters its fourth semester in late September. The program, which offers seven classes approved by the Money Management Institute and touts a mission of training and positioning college students to launch careers in the wealth management industry, has now served over 300 college students.
Joining the already ten participating universities are University of San Diego, University of North Carolina Wilmington, Temple, Hofstra, Widener, Lake Forest, High Point, and Lafayette, each of which will receive 25 scholarships to award to its students. Supported by prominent industry companies and individuals, EIOC is able to offer participation free of charge to the students as well as the universities.
This semester, the program will be expanding its offering to include a Resume and Internship Hub, powered by DAKDirect. The addition of this hub, which is open to all students who complete the program, adds the component of putting the accomplishments and experience of these students directly in front of hiring managers who are seeking interns and new employees. Through participation in the program, these students have already proven to possess the interest and dedication in the industry to take these classes and the knowledge to past its series of tests, making them ideal candidates for open jobs within the industry. “The Resume and Internship Hub directly bridges the gap between higher education and the workplace. DAKDirect has a history of placing some of the top executives within the industry, and we are eager to join the efforts of helping to place these students in their first internships and jobs to launch them into their wealth management careers,” stated Steven Clark, President of DAK Associates, the company behind DAKDirect.
FundFire, a leading publication in the wealth management industry, is offering all participants a complementary four-month subscription to its publication. EIOC reports offering access to FundFire will aid these students prepare for interviews and transitioning into their jobs by keeping them abreast of industry news.
In addition to these new offerings, Envestnet Institute On Campus continues to expand its Women in Wealth initiative, led by Cheryl Nash, President, Investment Services at FiServ, with more prominent women in the industry joining the initiative to empower women in the industry, who represent a remarkably low demographic. At this time, the percentage of females participating in Envestnet Institute on Campus is roughly 30%, a number the program is actively working on vastly improving.
